Aldo Lardizzone

Welcome

I created this blog to give shape and order to the memories collected over nearly a quarter of a century of travels, which have taken me across all five continents, each time returning with a suitcase full of stories, emotions, and encounters.

It is a personal diary, a container of memories, which I leave open to anyone who wishes to browse, dream, or perhaps find inspiration and practical advice for their next adventure. Whether you are seasoned travellers or first-time explorers, I hope you can find something here to inspire you to discover new worlds. Sometimes, all it takes is a story to spark the desire to set off or, simply, to travel in your mind.

I am launching this blog by sharing an experience that is especially meaningful to me: The Way of Saint James. I will recount it stage by stage, divided into chapters that follow the rhythm of my footsteps. Writing it has been a way for me to return to those paths rich in history and spirituality, reliving every wonder but also every challenge.

To those who choose to follow me through my story, I wish you the chance to experience The Way through my words and images, allowing yourself to be carried along "step by step" along a route of nearly nine hundred kilometres, from the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela, continuing then to touch the Atlantic Ocean at Finisterre.

Step by Step on The Way of Saint James

Returning from The Way of Saint James with my heart full of emotions and my mind overflowing with memories, I felt the need to record every fragment of my experience before time could fade it away.

My narrative thus joins the countless stories already written, both by renowned authors and by ordinary pilgrims.

Just another story, then! -

But it is also a unique story, unlike any other, because it speaks of my experience, written with my own perspective, perceptions, and way of recounting events.
